Beading

Hi again

Just wanted to show everyone 2 little projects l have been working on.

I have dicovered the joy of beading.

Just before Christmas l broke my ring finger on my right hand and so it made it difficult to hand sew, so had to find another project so decided l would give beading ago, and it didnt hurt the finger so of l went.

The hardest thing l found with beading was l didnt know when to stop, it was addictive.

I hope you like them.

Post a comment if you like them or not or am l talking to my self and as such going mad.?????

Adelaide Trip

On our recent 2 week trip in August we went to Mildura and across the border to a little town of Wentworth than just out from there were the Perry sandhills which we climbed and let me tell you they were bloody steep.
When we got to the top we dicovered if we had of come up from the other side we would of walked up a nice gentle grade instead of straight up.
I had a nice slide down the hill. Yeah only one slide l wasn't walking back up there.

Well this post has been a long time coming.

It has been a very enventful year with the Bushfires in Feb, making and quilting of lost s of quilt to give to surviors , our 1st overseas trip to Thailand in May, Caravan trip to Adelaide and Mildura and Echuca for 2 weeks.

When wewent to Adelaide we stayed at Lobethal which is where my brother lives.

What a beautiful spot it is.

Its called the valley of Praise,

We want to move there its such a beautiful area.

So my goal now is to start uploading random photos from the last 12 months.

<

The first photo was made for a Challenge for our group (Alexandra Quilters) It had to made with Japanese fabrics and be no bigger than A4 page and l have made it out of quarter inch hexagons.

It took me 3 months to complete. It kept me sane while the fires were here in Feb.

p>The second photo is of my Insanity Quilt which has 10,339 half inch Hexagons when finished.

Thats 2 photos in 2 days, Can l keep this up.

DOUBLE DELIGHT

This is a quilt made by a lady called Alice Proudfoot. it was entered in the Victorian Showcase at the Exhibition Centre in Melbourne 2008.
It won the Matilda's Own Longarm Quilting award so l can say l am a award winning quilter now LOL.
This is my 1st award that l have won, to say l am walking on cloud nine is an understatement.
The quilt is called Double Delight as when Alice finished it she was delighted as it had taken her 2 years to finish, and when l finished quilting it l was delighted , hence the name.

CHALLENGE QUILT

This is a photo of a challenge quilt that was made at our Patchwork Group (Alexandra Quilters)
Its called a 6x4.
11 people are in the challenge and each person cuts 10, 6" blocks x11 people, so you all end up with identical 110 , 6" squares.
You have to use the 6"squares and are allowed to add 4 fabrics. I have added 2.
The 11 quilts will be shown at Christmas time.
